Healthcare costs associated with depression in medically ill fee-for-service medicare participants

This paper analyzes depression and healthcare costs in medically ill fee-for-service (FFS) Medicare recipients. It concluded that FFS recipients with chronic medical conditions, such as diabetes or congestive heart failure, and comorbid depression had higher healthcare costs than those who did not have depression.
